Avv. Flavia H. M. Di Pilla

Flavia was born in Brasilia (Brazil) in 1975 and is a dual Italian/Brazilian citizen living in Siena since 1994. Flavia graduated from the University of Siena, having delivered her thesis in the field of international law entitled “Mercosul, ALCA and the European Union.”

Flavia is an appeal lawyer and is registered as a member of the Order of Lawyers in both Siena and Brazil. Flavia is a Consultant on International law and since 2005 she has acted as Legal Manager for numerous Italian and international companies seeking to move or expand their operations abroad. Flavia attends to such matters with a particular expertise in South American business, both for the conduct of the entire business enterprise as well as in the resolution of resulting and discrete legal issues. Flavia’s assistance and consultancy encompasses all legal aspects related to the needs of businesses. Flavia can also recommend partners throughout Italy and Brazil to assist with commercial expansions generally, as well as providing assistance with specific business sectors. For years Flavia deals with contract law matters in all the languages in which she is fluent (Italian, Portuguese, English and Spanish). Flavia provides legal and bureaucratic assistance in the business sectors that chart any intersection between Italy, Brazil, South America and Europe. These include, but are not limited to, opening new branches, transfer of employees, new business creation and management of all business activities from a legal or bureaucratic point of view. Throughout the years, Flavia has worked in a myriad industries internationalizing production and commerce in pharmaceutical biotechnology, the food sector, the construction industry, textiles, the agricultural industry (oil and wine) and franchising, to name but a few.

Prior to pursuing these legal avenues, Flavia was involved in legal academia under the tutelage of Massimiliano Montini, the professor who taught her at graduate level. During that time, she completed a number of Masters programs in law which later informed her practice, such as International Law and Business Law. Internationally, and specifically in Brazil, she deals with matters concerning inheritance law, family law and legal assistance for import/export and business development in both Italy and Brazil, including business management.

Since 2014 she assists citizens from all over the world who are descended from Italians with the judicial process that leads to recognition and attainment of their Italian citizenship iure sanguinis. Flavia has participated in hundreds of successful applications for citizenship under this law, and she does so as one of the foremost experts in this legal sector. Flavia shares the benefit of her expertise in the field of citizenship iure sanguinis and she is often invited to speak at events and conventions relevant to this legal field.

Moreover, given Flavia’s training in international mediation and negotiation, over the years Flavia has amassed extensive experience in business crisis management, assisting numerous companies with their extra-judicial restructuring phases and providing support in alternative dispute resolution procedures.

Flavia also works closely with numerous associations in the field of human rights law; work that she supplements with her prolific voluntary roles.

Flavia enjoys partnerships with International law firms in a wide array of countries, including Brazil, Argentina, South America and Europe.
