Irene graduated summa cum laude from the Faculty of Law at the University of Siena in 2008 and after that, in 2014, she completed her PhD in Private Law at the University of Pisa.
In 2011 Irene was registered in the Register of Lawyers of the Court of Siena and received the Silver Toga Award from the Order of Siena due to her performance on her qualifying exams.
Irene was enrolled in the register of lawyers trained in matters of gender violence.
Irene’s civil law practice encompasses all aspects of Civil Law. She provides advice and assistance in and out of court, up to the European Court of Human Rights. Irene mainly practices in Family Law, where she has specific experience of all matters pertinent to an international family law practice, and in particular on the complex and increasingly widespread phenomenon of the international abductions of minors.
Thanks to Irene’s mastery of legal English and to her collaboration with leading specialized translators and interpreters, she is able to assist an international clientele wherever in the world their needs should arise.
Regarding her work in the area of international child abduction, Irene was the co-author of a bill proposing a modification to the law n. 64/1994 on the Civil Aspects of international Child Abduction. In addition, Irene is the author and co-author of numerous petitions sent to the seat of the European Parliament and the European Commission.
Thanks to Irene’s specific experience in matters of international child abduction to German-speaking countries, she acts as a legal consultant for the C.S.IN. Onlus.
Irene is a speaker at Family Law conferences, among which can be included “The Vitruvian Child and the Crisis of Family Life”, held in Siena on 13/12/2024.
She’s also author of publications, including: “Binational minors and the German family law system: an all-European anomaly. Notes in the margins of the May 29, 2018 event at the European Parliament in Strasbourg “Jugendamt’s practices in cross-border cases of child custody”, in The Observatory on family law, 2019, 1.
In 2022 Irene has completed the School of Advanced Specialized Training in Personal, Family Relations, and Juvenile Law organized by the National Observatory on Family Law (ONDIF) and is the Vice-President of the Sienese branch of the National Observatory on Family Law.
